Ego would not be out of place in a trendy US city. The menu is fashionably minimal but the food packs a punch. The brochettes (small skewers) of herbed meats and shellfish hit the spot and my vodka-tonic was definitely a stiffy. Ego's wait staff is perfectly discreet, which for me is an ultimate compliment. And, I counted six or eight awesome crow-shaped neon lights hanging from the ceiling. Kick-ass food, stylish décor, I'm a fan...in fact, I'm an Ego Maniac! Yeah!

Mary Roush: Right on

Best caesar salad in Casco Viejo as well as vodka penne pasta (especially since Casuale in its new iteration took it off their menu). Note that the little plates and salads are on a separate menu from the dinner entrees, so you may have to ask for "both menus". Save room for dessert.
