Day 4: Panama Travel
Drove to Playa Venado stopping at Pedasi to take a few pics of this quaint
little town that looks like an artist's village where no artists live.
On my way to Villa Marina I took a detour to The Playita Resort. The first person I saw at the Resort was Mark Kanty of Boquete Highlands. What a small world. Mark informed me Kelly had sold the agency to a guy named Ulysses and Dan was now in charge of sales. The Playita Resort is a cute little hotelito of four cabins, more being built this year. The Playita Resort is owned by Lester and Doralis of Chitre. Lester is Panamanian/North American. He is a jockey, not sure if he is retired or not. The Playita Resort is built on a very nice beach with a totally protected little bay. Lester also offers fishing. After more cabins are complete this place will be great. The cabins that are there now are very nice. Then on to Villa Marina. Maria, the concierge, and I had to walk 200 meters down the beach enabling us to use my phone to call the owner of Villa Marina for confirmation of my stay. The tide was low on my arrival and it goes out about 50 meters. The Villa Marina appears to be at least 30 years old but maintained well. The floor tiles are the same as I used at the Armadillo Ranch and this was the popular tile of the day, hence my conclusion regarding the age. Drove to Playa Cambutel, a 20 mile, One and a half hour drive. The interesting thing that incurred on this trip was; very close to Playa Venado the road is on a bluff and after one curve the views open up to a spectacular view of a valley and the ocean looking down on the town of Canas. Day 5--Panama Travel I drove gingerly to Pedasi as I had one tire almost flat. Funny how things happen. Because of the flat I met Plinio Donoso wile waiting to get the flat fixed who works in the local bank but is on vacation. The Donoso family owns various parcels of land for sale in and around Pedasi. Some observations on Villa Camilla: 1.)Bottom of pool needs resurfacing, not a biggie. 2.)It is my belief that ladies will not like the rustic floor in the bath, or at least in the bath that was assigned to me. They are too rough. (Evidently this floor is not in all the bathrooms.) 3.)Lightening in bathrooms inadequate. 4.)Bathrooms need mats. 5.)Bathrooms need shampoo. Villa Camilla is so out of the ordinary that most people will not notice these little things. I am truly in love with Villa Camilla. It offers the life style I wish to pursue. Did you notice the wooden pegs connecting some of the supports to the posts? There are no nails holding supporting beams together. I want to live here. Je! Je! Je! jeje , and that's all folks. jp More Panama Travel Blogs |
