Day 3 -------------

Punta Duarte in the province of Veraguas, this is the part of the Azuero peninsula--a peninsula that I have been yearning to visit.

After leaving I drove as far as I could to the end of the peninsula but not many beach entrances. Hopefully I'll have some very good photos to show. After my travels in Panama there are places I do prefer. Now it is my opinion that the famous Giles St Giles did NOT in fact do his research. On the road between Llano Mariato and Torios (which is about 15 maybe 20 miles) there are rolling hills down to the ocean with magnificent views of the coast line in two directions and islands sprinkled every where with North to North West views. NOW Gaby told me that in the two years they have been there most of the coast line has been bought and some even sold twice. But for me the drive today gave me some of the most spectacular views I've seen any where. Still little to no marina potential, but how many people live or visit Ocotal and Manual Antonio the never go out on a boat?

I gave my cards to some locals. I really thought about writing my signs in spanish saying (I want to buy your property) and nailing them to trees. I did pick up a Peace Corp worker and she knows a family that at high tide has an island they want to sell. She is going to try to find them and give them my card. The Peace Corp worker said the island was small, maybe only big enough for one house but someone will want it.

All and all I am glad I finally did the Veragus pacific coast. The difficult thing is finding owners of these properties. This is the reason I gave my cards out hoping sooner or later these people will be in touch with owners and remember they have my info. It was worth a shot.

To do the proper research here I would need one, maybe two weeks in the area and maybe just being there would bring out something.

Oh and by the way Peter and Gaby have to go to Santiago once a week to check their email. No cell phone service neither Cable and Useless or Movistar. I must assume the country is working on this. There is electricity in many places but Peter and Gaby brought in what appears to be a mile's worth of private poles and they have their own well.

So that's all folks, I hope there was something interesting or note worthy for you to think about here. It sure was a good experience for me.
