Would I go back again? Most definitely (Location: Across from Ozone and beside Greenhouse off Calle Uruguay) ATTITUDE:xxx MOOD: xxx SERVICE:xxx BEEROMETER:$$ OVERALL:xxx

In my embryonic attempt to be cool in Panama City, I find it useful to analyze the new bars and clubs as meticulously as possible, so that in the event I was ever to go there, I could pretend like I'd done it before.

People is a new hang out just next to Greenhouse restaurant off Calle Uruguay. Hoards of good looking young people can be seen flooding its doors every weekend night around 11 PM: guys wearing the kind of hipster clothes I'd once reserved for GQ magazines, and girls dressed to the nines. I like to go up to these free spirits and compliment them on their shoes. "Nice kicks" I'll say, at which point they're usually startled that someone's standing so close.

Outside, there's a nice quiet patio which can be the perfect compliment to the thumping chaos that goes on indoors. The music gets extremely loud around 12 PM at which point the cool people of Panama can be seen doing things that cool people do: smoking, drinking, kissing their friends with lipstick. The bathrooms are all the way in the back, which makes bladder control very important as it can be difficult to work your way through the crowd. When I need to use the bathroom, I like to practice a little move I call the weave: basically a variation on The Icky Shuffle.

There's always professional photographers taking pictures for Panama's fu fu magazines and socialite websites: the kinds of photos that make you wish you were only that with it. Drinks are reasonably priced, and perhaps the best deal in the house is the botella or "bottle" of liquor which you and your trendy friends can share throughout the night. There's a very nice VIP area in the front, guarded by a large man wearing a child's-sized t-shirt—an area in which you'll either have to be popular enough to be invited, or break into on your own accord. "Nice kicks" I'll shout-whisper to the bouncer as he'll remove the velvet rope and let me in.

People is a fun new hotspot in the world of Panama's young, eclectic waffle stompers. Go there with a date or just a group of friends and see what I mean. You may even notice me: the guy up in the VIP booth with a bevy of beautiful people around his vicinity. If you're dressed cool enough, maybe I'll invite you in.
