Would I go back again? Yes (Casco Viejo) ATTITUDE:xxx MOOD: xxx SERVICE:xx BEEROMETER:$$ OVERALL:xxx

Have you ever been to a place that totally surprises you? A bar or a club that is so different and weird that it's cool? Well, after having experienced this... establishment (for a better lack of terms) I can say I have seen it all. Located in Panama's historic old city, is this gem of excitement and energy. You enter through a seemingly sketchy portal-like door and immediately know you're not in Kansas anymore.

Behind the peeling pastel walls and exhausted French façade is this giant open space: all the interior walls have been torn down (or maybe fallen on their own) and what's left is this fantastically large open courtyard with a pumping music stage, make-shift bar, and tons of neon-lit party people. The atmosphere is totally chill--meaning that you won't find any managers asking you to leave because you're not wearing a tie. There's this open vibe that is kinda liberating.

Charlotte: Very Chill Mixed Crowd
I think this is the one bar in Panama where you can see the ye-ye's blending in with the hippies, mixed with the tourists and sharing drinks and good conversation with intellectual elites. I've been here several times and met people from all walks of life, and from all over the world. The live music is great, and on most occasions not so loud that you're forced to be quite and not converse. The bar is small, and the drink choices are limited, but the service is excellent. For any person traveling to Panama, I would recommend this great site, as the previous poster described, quite "liberating."
