One is
Calle Uruguay's newest dig
and while not exactly on geographical Calle Uruguay per say, it falls under the
universal theme of the area. It's located across from Peperoncini in the old
Azucar building in Panama's party district and it's definitely worth a visit. They serve free drinks.

The doorman, in his
black suit, held the etched galss door open as our party entered David`s newest
club, Opium. We were beckoned by some comly ladies at the end of a white
coridor. We paid the entrance fee and were patted down by the ticket man in his
stylish black suit. I thought to myself, here could be something new, something
stylish, something fun and something that I am woefully underdressed for...

When asked "what regularly comforts you when travel?" most drinkers
can confidently answer that, regardless of the town or language, a British pub
is a thing of familiarity that, whether you're from England or not, makes everyone
feel a little more at home.

This place, from the outside, looks like a small, crummy
cigar bar. It’s situated directly across from The Marriot which means
inevitably prices will be doubled. But when you go in, you just might be pleasantly
surprised if you like women.

I tend to pride myself in being cool. I own several
different types of sunglasses which I wear on varying occasions, my jeans have
small, trendy rips in them, and I go to a club called The Gallery.

My first visit to Zanzibar took the form of a big countdown to pending sobriety. I arrived on the Thursday of Holy Week, two hours before the planned 48-hour alcohol ban in honor of the holiday. When I entered the bar through the swinging doors framed by large elephant tusks, I was met with a Moroccan hookah bar feel. Couches line two walls with tables and chairs in front like fluffy arms stretching out from the big screen TV in the corner where the baseball championship game was on mute. In the opposite corner was a decent-sized bar lined with African artifacts and an international selection of alcohol.

The Veneto Casino in El Cangrejo is, in our opinion, Panama City's best casino. Here's what they don't want you to know: the good, the bad, and the ugly. (*Note: new management has recently taken over the Veneto Casino and we plan on doing a follow-up assuming that they've improved most of the following)

There are 11 cities in Panama that have 36 legal gambling facilities and 23 of those are in Panama City. Casinos here range from having about 30 slots up to almost 1,000 in its largest facility. Whether you are looking to gamble, drink, eat, bet, people watch, waste time, watch a sports game or race, casino's are where it's at! You can find a lot of them attached to hotels or malls, as only a few stand-alone.

When most people hear Panama, they think of one thing: the country's most valuable asset and undoubtedly its greatest shortcut, the Panama Canal. But from its pirate-ridden days as a swashbuckling stronghold to today's beefy economy and real estate gold rush, Panama is a country full of charm.

I am starting a new series. It might get crazy, I dunno. But if it does, it will be sure to please your Panama-hungry taste buds. I've noticed that when having to write a review a week for this terrible, tedious, boring job I have in Panama ;) I tend to go out a lot. Clearly, the next best thing to do would be to write a series on the finest of what Panama City has to offer. This series is going to be titled “The Best of”: This is what I am going for: You are here for a night, a couple of nights. You want to know what the f**k you are going to do on this fabulous night, or even more fabulous couple of nights, that you are here in this fabulous country. Because quite frankly you just want to have a fabulous time.
