This is one of the few sort-of-high-end hotels in Santa Clara. Assuming you are not interested in the ant farms that are the nearby all-inclusives, Las Sirenas is possibly your best bet for decent accomodations at the beach in the area.
They have little villas down on the beach, which are slanted in a way that everyone gets a decent view. Be careful, however, if you are renting these rooms as the nearby social area can get loud late at night. There are no phones in the room to date, but amusingly, there is wireless internet. Which came first? The chicken or the egg? The rooms, or cottages as they call them, are pretty nicely decorated and have all the necessary amenities (a/c, tv with cable, kitchenette, and outdoor barbeques). The beach outside is nice white sand and the water is totally dip-worthy. They also charge their guests for ice which is bizarro. Rates can range from $70-$90 for one bedrooms and $100-$120 for two bedrooms. Overall, a perfectly decent place to spend the night.
