This is one of two decent-looking hotels in Tonosi. It´s got about 9 or 10 rooms with A/C, hot running water, and a nice in-house restaurant. The owners are really cute and live in the same building, just below. It´s in walking distance of everything, considering the town is about the size of my bellybutton. The owner, Bolivar and his wife welcomed us with open arms, showing us to a very cute little room and then cooked us dinner even though it was past their bed time. As we ate, Bolivar sat across from us at a nearby table with a pink table cloth, the sort of way you sit near something you want to talk to or learn more about. I sensed it and invited him into our conversation. We talked about a number of things, from fish sticks to Legos to the weather to crows and Bolivar was loving it. I believe there were 4 or 5 channels on the old school TV in our room but we didn´t watch them much. The people around these parts live very simply. They live without running water, electricity, or in some cases phones. People like me, who gets frustrated when my cell phone isn´t getting signal in a tunnel, should take a second and appreciate this lifestyle. Tonosi is a great hub for small day trips and Hotel Boamy is cute and cuddly enough, that at the end of a long day, you can call it home.
