Not wanting to bash Playa Blanca (I haven\'t been there yet), I found the Decameron, Panama, to be excellent. They claim to be 4 Star, but I personally think that this is too low; show be 5+!! From the time we checked in, through NoliTours, everything was fanatastic.

Seeing as it was after 8PM when we checked in, on the bus, they gave us a pass for the buffet at the Atlantic buffet. Once off the bus, we were at the buffet within 10 minutes. Food that night was good, fresh, hot, etc. Not exactly like an A La Carte, but good just the same. After eating, we got to our room, where the suitcases had already arrived. Having only 1 kley was a little bit of a drag until the next day when we got a 2nd one (with a deposit). We needed to stay together for the evening, but that was fine. Walking around, the guests that had already been there for a week were very helpful, not to mention the staff who answered any and all questions.

The beach area was very clean, abeit missing a few extra tree umbrellas or tents, but we made out alright. The pools were very clean, and the pool staff (also the show staff), tried to get as many people involved as they could. All the A La Carte restaurants offered excellent food. You can reserve up to 3 restaurants a week and if you played your cards right, even more by going to lobby 2 or 3 at 8AM for a last minute reservation.

The shows every night were always different, and were very energetic. The casino also was a plus. I heard that the disco was good, but never got there. All in all, I would rate the Royal Decaeron, Panama, my best vacation that my wife and I have taken in 31 years of marriage. We would recommend this location to anyone.
