We found the Raddison Decapolis as a trendy and chic hotel, a combination of modern design and incomparable atmosphere. This is definitely one of the best properties in Panama. This hotel is set in the business district on Avenida Balboa, which is a centralized location. Just steps away from great shopping, about a two-minute walk from the Multi Centro shopping plaza, one of Central America's largest shopping centre, which is connected by elevated walkway, is arguably Panama's most modern and trendy hotel accommodations. It's also on Avendia Balboa so it's an easy cab ride from the airport and very accessible to the rest of the city. I would suggest that you get cabs a block from the hotel however, as ones that come up to the hotel will charge you quite a bit more.

We had the suite we wanted. It is well appointed, bright, and spacious and clean. Beds are very good and duvet is terrific. It also has walk-in closets and big bathrooms with crystal doors. Two flat screen TV, Cell phone, Radio are also in place. The decor and ambiance of the hotel is phenomenal. Inside the room they have these large, blown-up photos showing the different Panama's ethnic groups. Some of these photos are of semi-nude women, which buttoned-up types might find bothering. I found them amusing. We had a problem with our room keycard. It tends to demagnetize as so many of these new-age room keys doo. But overall we still like our room. The minimalist mood inside the room is instantly inviting and not intimidating at all. It's not even cold which is the tendancy when choosing such a style.

If you are looking for quite an nice view, try to book rooms from the 10th floor or up as most of the ones there I'm aware of have views of the ocean.

The customer service is quite satisfying. The front desk staff is helpful but not so friendly in our opinion. We had a complimentary breakfast which is excellent though and made up for any half-smiles that came our way. (I've noticed that where you have breakfast was clearly determined by what room you paid for: interesting tid-bit.) The Martini and Sushi Bar are great places to enjoy fresh sushi and after talking with the bartenders, I came to learn that the place get's really packed, Fridays from around 9-11. Otherwise, there's a nice group of people there, but Friday was phenomenal. My mom loves the martinis. The Fusion Restaurant inside the hotel has superb service and awesome food. It features gourmet, fusion-style cuisine which great dining experience is assured and the ceviche was fantastic. The staff were fast and very friendly.

This hotel has a small swimming pool but does serve the needs of most guests including myself who likes to do laps. The pool is roughly the size of a large bath tub. Food can also be delivered to you by the pool where you can enjoy spectacular views of the city. But hopefully the smell of the Panama bay won't reach up there.

The hotel spa is amazing, great service. It is well managed though a bit expensive. I'd probably opt for other ones over it, but in terms of convenient, it fit the bill. Overall the hotel is a great place to stay and above par in the Panama hotel world.

Our stay
written by John and Dianne , November 22, 2008
We flew into PTY for a 10 day stay and chose, at the recommendation of our Realtor, the Radisson. The room, although clean and fairly spacious, was right next to the elevators and because of the construction of the building, it carried every voice as if on a loudspeaker. When we complained, the response was, "oh well, that's life." I would not chose ever to stay there again, nor recommend it to anyone. However, I would go to the Bar and Lounge on Fridays to enjoy the drinks, but that would never be enough to entice me to stay there. The Shraton is much better.
