Would I go back again? Hella!!!! Location: El Cangrejo, Calle F, (Near the Einstein Head) FOOD: xxxx SERVICE: xxxx AMBIENCE: xxxx PRICE: $ OVERALL: xxxx

New York Bagel Cafe is a simply scrumptious, typical bagel cafe you would find in the states. They have bagels from "Frisco Sourdough" to "Strawberry Fields" to "Jumpin' Jalapeno" and cream cheeses like "Sundried Tomato/Basil" and "Lox Bits."

They have 20 different types of bagels, 12 different types of cream cheeses, and 18 different types of sandwhiches. They also offer a variety of different flavored coffees, Italian sodas, juices, bagel chips, and some homemade desserts. It is very trendy inside with leather couches, abstract paintings, and little tableside books. It is a great place to sit down and eat and probably one of the best breakfasts you have had in a long time while catching up with your friends. You can also go to your web-blog and say, just like everyone else, "I met and chatted with the owner." Well of course you did, because the guy is there 24/7 and this cafe is like his little excuse to hang out with unsuspecting gringos all day long. Truth be told, that's why we go there too.

I have taken it as my personal mission to do my part to keep this place in business. I told the owner the same. The bagels are authentic--not those baked bagel pretender thingies--and the whipped cream cheese is heavenly. Note that if you buy "una docena" you get 13 vs. 12. Cut them in half, wrap them individually, pop them in a freezer bag, and stick them in the deep freeze. They'll toast up to freshly-baked condition.

I love NY!!!

The best coffee shop / breakfast joint in Panama, hands down!

I finally had the chance to make it to the NYBC today. Many friends had told me I should try it, but hadn't the opportunity until today, and wow I wasn't dissappointed. Fantastic bagels, and a great breakfast special. Liked the overall new york style environment and saw quite a few friends on mine. I may have been slow in making it to this place, but I sure will come back soon.

New York in Panama
written by Helios , April 06, 2011
Have been a fan of the bagel cafe since I arrived in Panama in 2009. Now, I went back recently and they have expanded, and have a nice outdoor space where I can have a smoke and drink my coffee. I love it!
