What first brought you to Panama and what were some of the deciding factors?:

I came to Panama because I seen there was a need for what I do and a chance to do it in a different country.

How long have you been living in Panama and how long do you see yourself here in the future?:

I have been here 23 months. I see myself here at least 5 more years but alot depends on Panama itself like what direction they take in regards to business and imagaration policies.

What are the positive aspects of life in Panama?:

Cheap living warm weather and you can get on a plane and be in the states or South America in a short time.

What are the negative aspects of life in Panama?:

The manana mentality.

What one aspect of your life in Panama makes it all worthwhile?:

The chance to make money and retire early.

Was it difficult to become "legal" or achieve residency for you in Panama?:

No just takes money

Do you speak Spanish and do you think it's necessary in order to succeed in Panama?:

I speak Spanish however poorly. I think you can get by without it but anyone can learn enough to get by quickly.

What are your future plans in Panama?:

Try and maximize my profession which is a contractor and invest in properties.

Talk about where you live: location, type, neighbors, costs, amenities, conveniences?:

I live in Altos de Maria a hour and half from the city in the mountains. My neighbors are mostly all retired gringos. We have most all the amenities one would have living in rural U.S.

How are you received by the locals in Panama?:

Do you ever miss home and if so, how do you best cope with it?:

I miss home sometimes I cope by emails and going back every few months.

Do you have any tips for people thinking about moving to Panama?:
|
Come now before it gets to expensive or at least by somehting now.
